We are delighted to announce our application for the Small Heath Neighbourhood Forum and area boundary has now been approved and designated. The Small Heath Neighbourhood Forum will now lead public consultations on the draft plan proposals within the area and designated zone.
​​​
The designation decision was approved by the Deputy Leader, the Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills on 8th August 2024.
​
The proposed NP Forum was considered to be in accordance with NP regulations and established for the purpose of promoting or improving the social, economic and environmental well-being of the area.
​
This is the first stage of the Neighbourhood Plan process, the proposed themes the Forum wish to explore towards creating a neighbourhood plan are:

Local planning (incorporating housing and employment)
-
Open spaces and green spaces
-
Planning and development of the Coventry Road
-
Reduction of poverty and promotion of opportunities for residents and businesses

Youth initiatives and development
​
The Neighbourhood Plan is subject to an independent examination and a local referendum before it is made.

Help Define Small Heath

We want to define what residents of Small Heath believe are the actually boundaries of their area, regardless of traditional definitions and local elections. Help us define our community.

Appropriate Housing and Planning is a long term strategy of the
Small Heath Neighbourhood Plan. Help us set our goals, concerns and vision for Small Heath.
Have your say on Community Projects and Issues
We want to hear about good local projects and initiatives that could all form part of the wider scop of our plan. Be it a Festival, Cultural Event
or Food Bank we want you to
get in touch.
Community Consultations
Consultation events are planned between January - May 2023 as Neighbourhood Drop-in Sessions.

Between January and the end of May 2023, we will be asking the community to give us their views on the following topics:

Local Green Space

Locally Valued Non-Designated Heritage Assets

Local Planning and Housing Needs

Community concerns

The stakeholders are the body of people who volunteer to manage and lead on the Neighbourhood Plan. They are charged with overseeing and advising on the review of the Neighbourhood Plan. This is very much a community-led plan so there are representatives from both Small Heath and the wider community. This is a continuing process and we also welcome new members.
This is a voluntary led initiative and all involved do so for the greater good of the area we share. Can we thank all those who have worked so hard thus far.
